I had a summer full of mourning, relaxing, fun, contemplation, boredom and love. I am currently sitting in the Rajan's spare bedroom realizing I haven't blogged in a very long time. I would like to think it was because I was so busy in Minnesota I just didn't have the time. However, I think the real reason is, I was just lazy.
I managed to have some fun. We did laser tag on my Birthday in August. I went on some pretty long motorcycle rides, went to the Minnesota State Fair and had some food on a stick. It's the thing to do at the state fair. Most things come a stick. Cheese on a stick, pork chop on a stick, key lime pie on a stick, spaghetti and meatballs on a stick. I didn't eat all of these things, I was just pointing out the wide range of food that Minnesotans have turned into stick cuisine.
Trixie and I are heading back to New York with a stop-over in Michigan to stay with Sunil's Mom and Dad. It has been quite relaxing. I've been fed well, Trixie is being spoiled. Although yesterday afternoon she fancied herself "Underdog" and learned how to use her paw to roll down the automatic window in the back seat of the car. She jumped out going about 30mph. Dumb dog even ran in front of a bicyclist and made him fall over. He wasn't hurt, thankfully, but Trixie scraped her knees and elbows, tore a dew claw and made her back legs so sore she is walking like an elderly woman that just has a hip replaced. The vet looked her over and said she was fine, although she isn't allowed to play ball or frisbee for a week :)
I'm now looking forward to heading back to NYC. I miss Marlon! We skyped with her this morning and she is such an amazing little person. Well, soon to be taller than her Poppimom (grandma) so I'm not sure I can call her little for much longer. 5th grade!!!! I can't wait to hang out with her again. She is such an amazing spirit.
I'm not sure, but I think I may be moving out of the city. I know folks that have been telling me to wait a year before I make any big decisions, but my rent is unsustainable in my new found career of not working! :) I want something with a yard for Trix and the cats, Cody and Anna. I miss driving to the store and getting things in my car and only having to walk a small distance to the house. I guess I'm more suburban than I wanted to believe. I'm looking at Jersey City. I know that will make my friend Emma very happy :)
That is about it. I will end with some pics of the summer...
