Softball Opener

It was a bit chilly but the ZAAM Softball team came out victorious beating rueters 13-3 in their season opening game!

I'm back playing with ZAAM (Zurich Alternative Asset Management) this year on field one on the east river, with views of the Williamsburg Bridge. Although playing on Turf is a whole "new ballgame" HA! get it... I was the catcher and not only do I catch, I talk schmack to the batters to throw off their game. One guy had the fancy socks on that you where when you play baseball. So I said to him as Sam pitched one in "oh, you have the fancy socks on, that must mean you can hit real good then!" in my best Minnesotan. He hit it right to first base and was out. I'd like to think it was because of my way with intimidating words! :)
This is Sam Yi, our Coach and Pitcher!
Lynn Ann is new to the team and she kicks some royal softball butt!

This is Beth, I work with her. We shared the all important catching and bench warming position. :)
This is me benchwarming!

Marlon's Birthday Adventure

Marlon turned 9 on March 29th! We decided to surprise her with a Birthday Adventure/Present Hunt. She had riddles and clues she needed to solve in order to point her to her next present. There were 9 cards and when she found the card it would give her a present and a clue to her next adventure. It took her up a flight of stairs and a ladder, down to the scary "dungeon" basement in our building, out on to the roofdeck and some hidden placed in the apartment. I have a video of it that I want to edit and post on here, so be watching for that. Until then, I will leave you with these pictures. A HUGE BIG LARGE shout out to our friend and New York Family Angela who came over and made Birthday signs, blew up balloons, did our dishes and brought the ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins!!! WAHOOO for Angela! WAHOOO for Marlon turning 9!!!!

Here is Marlon finding her second present on the ladder leading up to our building's roof.

Marlon picked what she wanted for dinner. It was grilled skirt steak and mashed potatoes. She made the dry rub of cumin, ginger, chili, all-spice and clove powder to put on the meat and helped us grill it outside on the roof deck. Angela prepared the cake for Marlon. I tried to help, but I just ended up putting the 9 on the cake backwards. :)

Marlon listening to us sing Happy Birthday to you, you live in a zoo, you smell like a monkey, and you look like one too. :) She made a wish then blew out the #9. I wonder if she wished we would sing to her anymore?

So the video will come soon. I just need to figure out why the sound isn't working a final cut express in order to edit the video and post it. So wish me luck on that :)

Day 12 of the PCV Battle

We are entering day 12 of the battle between PCV and Oligo. I can tell you that they are ravaging their battlefield AKA Sunil's body. Despite the woozy stomach, headaches and all over body aches Sunil presses on. He is aiding PCV by drinking fresh juice consisting of but not limited to, Kale, Carrot, Apple, Orange and Grapefruit. Ginger Tea is helping with the nausea. As Oligo fights for survivial I ask the readers of this blog to pray. Pray hard for the success of PCV. Pray hard that the PCV will wipe out Oligo in 4 rounds instead of 6. Each round of treatment is 8 weeks. Sunil doesn't want to feel this way for a whole year. Pray hard people. In times of war we all have to come together and do our part. We may not be able to go into the body and physically fight with PCV but we can buy war bonds, ration our food and turn in our metal to make bombs, uh, metaphorically speaking of course.

Thank you all for your support. We will check-in with the battlefront later this week. Also, be expecting a blog on Marlon's B-Day Adventure...
